PSI, short for Pounds per Square Inch, is a unit of pressure primarily used in the United States, but also in other areas that use non-metric measurements. It describes the amount of force exerted on an area of one square inch. This is particularly useful in a variety of applications, but one of the most common is measuring tire pressure in vehicles.
On the other end of the scale, we have the Bar, a metric unit of pressure. While not an official SI unit, it is nevertheless widely used in science, engineering, and everyday life in many countries that use the metric system. Like PSI, it is also often used for measuring tire pressure, as well as in weather forecasts, among other applications.
There is a direct conversion factor between PSI and Bar. One Bar is equivalent to approximately 14.5038 PSI, which means that when you have a pressure measurement in Bar and you want to know what that is in PSI, you just multiply it by 14.5038.
1 bar = 14.5038 PSI
Conversely, if you have a measurement in PSI and you want to convert it to Bar, you multiply it by 0.0689476.
1 PSI = 0.0689475729 bar
